Just Faux Me

When it comes to proper vintage shopping in London, it's all about luck and sartorial destiny. I know it's cliché to say but if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Which is how I spotted this vintage KTZ plastic faux fur geo-grid coat that apparently didn't make it on the runway and is an actual sample piece (I love one-offs). After trying it on and holding onto it while contemplating whether or not I should get it, three REALLY pushy Italians were stalking me whilst mumbling in their code language and trying to take my coat, it has gotten so blatantly obvious and rude that the store clerks had to stop them from badgering me. If only they were a minute earlier they could've bought it, it's all about timing really. But back to the coat, it's true what they say, the devil is in the details. The intricate stitching, layering, spacing, and even the faint purple marker lines that indicates the pattern positions for the faux fur all adds up to how personal and unique this piece really is. Until I decide what to wear underneath, enjoy these detail shots. I wonder how this piece would end up looking at LFW....

    1. Oh yeah! I was just like that when I first saw it, I was delightfully confused. After a while and trying it on (and the seriously discounted price), it made me love this impractical rain coat haha

    1. Glad you agree, I hope it makes the statement of "it a raincoat but there's faux fur on it because I don't really care about practicality, it's fashion". glad the scarf arrived safely, can't wait to see pics!

  9. Wow, what a coat! the plastic base will keep you really warm, or hot. Certain blocks the cold wind in winter! :-)

    1. I'm worried about the 'hot' part, you're right, plastic based coats are so warm as they completely trap body heat!

    1. It was one of the vintage stores that carried quite a few designer brands too on Berwick Street in Soho. They receive random stuffs like even Rick Owens & Margiela.

    1. That is true, perhaps in an alternate universe where I wasn't badgered, I never got the coat.
