Regardless of how hot this summer gets, I'm feeling coats and outerwear, preferably those of the thin variety. I've always fancied layering during summer, but the scorching climate never permits that kind of luxury; instead, we are given an ultimatum: either skimplify (simplify by dressing skimpy) or melt. A week ago, dear friend and recent Central Saint Martins BA graduate Xinyuan Xu generously gifted me with this coat from her collection. Ever since that faithful day, I can't quite leave home without it. We joked about how the waxy texture comes off a little S&M, or I look like I stole Keanu Reeve's coat from The Matrix and decided to look like a dealer, but let's just call it fashion and leave all notions of offensive dress codes aside, thanks. I yearn for a windy summer, just so I can minimize sweaty pit stains (I sweat profusely) and maximize flow-y coat trains for dramatic effect. So like many of those longing for a constant summer breeze, I say, "BLOW ME".
