Allow me to hereby state that trends really do exist in cycles, much like periods and reincarnation, preferring the latter of course. Apparently our immunity towards the stripe fever was merely temporarily masked by other hype-trends, as it came back bigger and bolder this year ever since it hit us circa 2011 when Miuccia exhibited minimal stripes and to-die-for espadrille brogues creepers. Think about it guys, it's only logical that amidst the tartan/plaid trend gives way to the stripe trend, which basically is the horizontal version of the former. Initially, I felt no strong desires in partaking in this particular crazed act of plastering linear bands across my body, but since it will be considered 'new' territory for me, thou shall explore. If there was anything learnt or gained from attempting to put together this ensemble, is that London's weather in general is not very fashion-friendly. True, a crop top paired with sandals would suggest more cooling elements for a summery look, yet I've consciously chosen to add socks and fur, which instantly renders the crop feature and toe-exposing footwear useless. In hindsight, all this resulted in a seriously conflicting outfit, with clothing from all four seasons in a year smooshed into one singular look. 'Weather' or not you agree, that's your call.
